This Cheat Sheet focuses on 5 remote video conferencing and online meeting software solutions, including a couple of the most well-known names/vendors. They all offer a ton of (sub) features, add-ons, plugin options, and so on, too much to mention. Of course, there is a great deal of overlap as well. I tried to focus on some of the main areas that most of you will be interested in, at least to start out with. Downloadable sheet available.
Iโm well aware that there are many more solutions out there and as you know Iโm always open to suggestions, so please do share. Also, if you think that some of the information is incorrect please let me know as well. If you can, pointing me to a source showing me what it should be would be very helpful. Iโve based this sheet on personal research and experience, unfortunately not everything was straight forward to find. You’ll find the download link to the PDF below.
Twitter Poll
As part of a Twitter poll I posted a few days ago, I asked “What software do you primarily use for video conferencing / online meetings / general collaboration, etc.? Comment if it’s something else. Thank you!” Even though the poll is still running this should give you a good idea on what is used globally, see the results below. Thanks, everyone for chipping in:
Other answers and comments included:
- Chime
- Hangouts Meet
- Skype for Business
- Facetime
- Slack
- Circuit
When I posted the above poll the cheat sheet itself was already finished for around 90% so I was happy to see that the solutions I choose are on top of mind and used by almost everyone else as well. With a few exceptions here and there.
